TOTAL UNCONVENTIONAL GAS UAE (TUGS)
In November 2018, ADNOC signed an agreement with TotalEnergies granting the 40 percent stake in the Ruwais Diyab Unconventional Gas Concession
Under the terms of the agreement, the concerned unconventional concession area of will be explored and appraised to determine the potential development of its gas resources.
The first key milestone of the exploration and appraisal phase was the connection of the exploration well to the GEP (Gas Export Pilot), in November 2020.
The GEP aims to treat the produced wellhead gas to reach our customers’ gas specification and to transport the treated gas along an 8” pipeline of 33 km long towards the Gas Delivery Point.
These surface facilities, were constructed as part of a commitment to minimize flaring during the extended well testing of the Diyab exploration and appraisal program, allowing the valorisation of the wellhead production all along this critical stage of the project.
The second and equally significant achievement is the start of extended well testing on the first set of appraisal wells since early 2021 (currently ongoing).
The appraisal wells drilled and hydraulically fractured in the same formation and are also connected to the GEP in order to export gas production.
In addition to the appraisal drilling, 2 step out exploration wells been drilled and completed with even more encouraging results, from early test data.
2021 is a key year for the ADNOC Total Ruwais Diyab Unconventional Concession to appraise the potential development of its gas resources.
