TotalEnergies Design Commissioning Award Ceremony

The Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation (ADMAF) announced the winners of its 2020 awards in design, fine arts, visual arts, and performance arts categories. The winners included Emirati artist Aisha Khalfan Al Mehairi, NYUAD student Reem Al Manhali, Emirati visual artist Maitha Al Omaira, and Emirati artist Noura Alserkal.

The awards were presented by His Excellency Sheikh Shakhboot Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State. The ceremony was attended by Her Excellency Huda Ibrahim Alkhamis-Kanoo, Founder of the Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation, Founder and Artistic Director of Abu Dhabi Festival, along with Elias Kassis, President TotalEnergies E&P and TotalEnergies Country Chair in the UAE and representatives of L'Ecole Van Cleef and Arpels; and Gulf Capital, the leading alternative investment company in GCC and Asia.

 

The TotalEnergies Design Commission Award, launched in 2013 to support Emirati young talents in visual arts, theatre, literature, animation, and cinema, was awarded to Emirati artist Aisha Khalfan Al Mehairi for her submission "Emirati Food Culture", a book with content and design inspired by Emirati cultural identity and heritage.

His Excellency Sheikh Shakhboot Nahyan Al Nahya praised the Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation's role in driving the cultural scene and movement in the UAE through its various initiatives and awards, which encourage creativity and cultivate national talents, ultimately supporting the comprehensive advancement across all relevant fields and sectors.

The Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation focuses on supporting achievements in the fields of culture and arts and sustaining cultural development, by embracing creativity and launching a wide array of initiatives and societal programs to attract various audiences, in addition to cultivating creative talents in the UAE and abroad in cooperation with major local and international cultural institutions.
